The owners of this renovated Williamstown home wanted to move beyond plain white walls and inject personality into every room with carefully chosen feature walls. Each room received a bold accent colour on one wall, deep burgundy in the master bedroom, navy blue in the living room, forest green in the dining room, charcoal in the home office and warm terracotta at the end of the hallway, with the remaining walls finished in a clean warm white..

The key to feature wall painting is the cut-in, the razor-sharp line where the bold colour meets the white at each internal corner. Every edge was cut in by hand with zero bleed or overlap, requiring steady hands and meticulous preparation. All walls received two coats of Dulux Wash & Wear for a durable, washable finish in the chosen feature colours, while the remaining walls and ceilings were finished in warm white. Skirtings, architraves and door frames throughout were finished in Dulux Aquanamel semi-gloss for a clean contrast.
The result took the home from a blank canvas to a series of distinct, characterful spaces, each room with its own mood and personality, tied together by the consistent warm white, oak floors and brass fixtures throughout.

Common questions
How long does it take to paint a 3-bedroom house?
A standard three-bedroom interior takes five to seven working days including preparation. A full exterior repaint typically takes seven to ten, weather permitting. Modernize Solutions confirms a firm timeline with your written quote before any work starts.
How much does it cost to paint a 3-bedroom house interior?
In Melbourne, a full three-bedroom interior repaint is typically $6,000 to $11,000. That covers walls, ceilings, doors and trim, with the final price depending on wall condition, ceiling height and how much filling and sanding the prep needs.
What preparation is included in a professional paint job?
Washing surfaces, sanding back flaking or glossy paint, filling cracks and holes, caulking gaps and spot-priming bare patches. On the projects on this site, prep is usually more than half the total hours on the job. It is the difference between paint that lasts three years and paint that lasts ten.
Do I need to move out while my house is painted?
No. Interior repaints are done room by room so you keep living in the house, and we seal and ventilate work areas as we go. Low-VOC Dulux paints also mean rooms are usable again quickly.
