This modern two-storey home in Aintree needed a full interior repaint before the new owners moved in. The property featured a striking double-height living room with cathedral ceilings, an open-plan kitchen and entertaining area, an upper-level retreat overlooking the void below, and a generous master bedroom with rural views. Every wall, ceiling, door, skirting and architrave throughout needed fresh paint to bring it back to move-in ready condition..

Vacant open-plan living room with freshly painted white walls, oak timber floors and black sliding doors overlooking a new backyard in an Aintree home

The scale of the double-height living room, over five metres from floor to ceiling peak, required careful planning and specialist access equipment. We worked methodically from top to bottom, starting with the vaulted ceilings and upper walls before moving down to standard-height areas. Every ceiling received Dulux Ceiling White in flat finish, while all walls were coated in two coats of Dulux Wash & Wear in Vivid White for a bright, durable finish that would stand up to daily life.

The real craftsmanship showed in the trim work. Every internal door, door frame, architrave and skirting board throughout the home was finished in Dulux Aquanamel semi-gloss, giving that crisp, hard-wearing contrast between the flat matt walls and the subtle sheen of the trim. The pocket sliding doors, modern square-profile architraves and MDF skirting boards all received the same attention to detail, clean lines, no brush marks, professional results. The finished home felt brand new, bright, clean and ready for its next chapter.

Common questions

How long does it take to paint a 3-bedroom house?

A standard three-bedroom interior takes five to seven working days including preparation. A full exterior repaint typically takes seven to ten, weather permitting. Modernize Solutions confirms a firm timeline with your written quote before any work starts.

How much does it cost to paint a 3-bedroom house interior?

In Melbourne, a full three-bedroom interior repaint is typically $6,000 to $11,000. That covers walls, ceilings, doors and trim, with the final price depending on wall condition, ceiling height and how much filling and sanding the prep needs.

What preparation is included in a professional paint job?

Washing surfaces, sanding back flaking or glossy paint, filling cracks and holes, caulking gaps and spot-priming bare patches. On the projects on this site, prep is usually more than half the total hours on the job. It is the difference between paint that lasts three years and paint that lasts ten.

Do I need to move out while my house is painted?

No. Interior repaints are done room by room so you keep living in the house, and we seal and ventilate work areas as we go. Low-VOC Dulux paints also mean rooms are usable again quickly.
