Can you suggest era-appropriate colours for a Californian bungalow interior?
Yes. Bungalow interiors suit warm, muted wall colours with the timber trim, picture rails and built-ins picked out in a soft white or enamel, and we can show you combinations that have worked on similar Preston homes at the quote visit. See the cost guide →
Our old walls are hard plaster with fine cracks. How do you handle that?
Interwar Preston homes usually have solid hard plaster rather than plasterboard. Fine cracks get raked out and filled with the right setting compound, and any drummy sections are flagged honestly before painting, because paint alone will not hold failing plaster.
Do you repaint the original timber doors and window frames inside?
Wherever the timber is sound we prepare and repaint rather than replace: sanding back flaking layers, priming bare timber and finishing in enamel. On pre-1970 homes we test for lead first and use safe wet methods where it is present.
What does a written quote include for a Preston home?
A fixed itemised price covering preparation, materials and labour, and the exact products. It is free and there is no obligation. Character homes vary a lot, which is why we always quote in person.
